27 Nov Roar of The Rio Iguazu & An Airplane-Shaped Capital
When I saw Niagara Falls last year I was amazed by their size and beauty. I read Iguazu Falls is even more magnificent, but before believing, writing or saying it, I needed to check that for myself. Cataratas do Iguacu (as they are called in Portuguese) are higher than Niagara and are supposed to be even wider than Victoria. What I can definitely say is Iguazu Falls are breathtaking. Hearing Iguazu River’s roar should be on everyone’s bucket list.
Iguazu Falls from both sides
I have managed to squeeze visit of both sides into one day. It sure wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. First I visited the Brazilian side, which gives you a wider perspective and panoramic view over the falls, while the Argentinian side offers a closer look. Top attraction and therefore most spectacular part of both sides is Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat). Brazilian trail terminates at the bottom of Devil’s Throat and Argentinian longest walkway offers the view from above.
My Nikon and I got soaking wet and I thought I will need to buy a new DSLR camera soon. But my travel buddy got well and is (still) working just fine ?
Note to self after visiting the falls: buy a GoPro, so “Nikon” stays safe ?
From Iguazu to Brasilia, an Airplane-Shaped Capital
Next stop was Brazil’s capital city. It won my heart when I read it’s a city shaped like an airplane. I guess no further explanation is needed here ? Brasilia is a masterpiece of modernist architecture listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
I’m not an architecture expert but those futuristic buildings look amazing during the day and night. TV Tower offers a city overview however, its observation deck is unfortunately not high enough to see the shape. Most of the attractions are located along the Eixo Monumental, the street which forms the body of a plane. I was staying in a residential zone, which spreads across the wings.
As a foodie, I also got exactly what I was looking for in Brasilia! Almost every cuisine can be found here, so I was far from hungry ?
Ouro Preto is my stop before “grand finale” – Rio.
Thank you so much for reading!
Love,

Season 01, Episode 01 ~ traveling and everyday stories
One of my best friends often says someday a series will be written and shot based on my life's story. This is probably not going to happen but her joke was definitely an inspiration for today's title. Every story has a beginning, so let me start with my "official traveling release" 🙂
